The Investigator…

She stood in the distance,
The chalk outline was drawn,
Yet again another death…

All the insides had been removed,
From the body,
As the body laid there perfectly intact,
Against the cold asphalt…silently…

If only her body could speak,
Would she tell you of a horror,
Or of a love gone bad…

She watched as they zipped the black body bag up,
How could this be…she thought to herself…

Again the murderer slipped through her grasp…
She turned to her partner,
Zeke, “He’s precise, never leaving a clue behind”,
Again she repeated herself,
Zeke, “He’s precise, never leaving a clue behind”…

She noticed Zeke eyes,
They where bereaved,
She never saw this look on his face before…

She walked over to the body bag,
Slowly unzipping it…

Her cigarette fell from her lips,
She was “looking down at herself”…
